The Evpaty Kolovrat Monument is an equestrian statue that is located in the northern part of the largest city and administrative center of Ryazan Oblast, Ryazan, within the central-western part of the Russian Federation.

As Evpaty Kolovrat played an important role in the fight for Ryazan against the Mongols in 1237, he was actually a bogatyr, which in translation would mean a knight/warrior in medieval East Slavic legends, which in turn made him a legend today. When the Mongols conquered Ryazan, Evpaty Kolovrat wanted to avenge the destruction of the city a few weeks later. As he tried his offensive against the Mongols, unfortunately, he was killed while fighting the vastly superior Mongol army. Since then, he has been remembered as the leader who bravely led a small detachment against the Mongol army of Batu Khan in 1237–1238, and today he is celebrated for his immense bravery and fortitude given for his city of Ryazan.
